ArtsC Founders, LaShawn Kimber and Tomeka Leaphart are experts in the field of education. Their passion for teaching lead to the creation of the ArtsC program.
LaShawn Kimber is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. She has dedicated the last decade of her life to children having a successful education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, works as a Drama Teacher, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership. Ms. Kimber is the owner and founder of Let’s Learn! LLC located in Charlotte, NC. Let’s Learn! is a tutoring service for elementary students grades K-5.
Tomeka Leaphart Chaney has been a performing arts and core subjects instructor for over 14 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Vocal Performance, from Columbia College and in 2006 completed her Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. She is a singing instructor and is currently working towards a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Ms. Leaphart has over 20 years experience in education and wrote her thesis on integrating core and arts subjects.
Why ArtsC is Special?
The program consists of constant correlation and can be used with most curricula. Often core and arts subjects are taught separately. Even when the subjects are correlated, this process is not a routine in most classrooms. With the ArtsC program, every core subject lesson consists of correlation of arts subjects.
